Overgrown

In "Overgrown," I use caffenol-developed phytograms partially lumen prints to explore urban pollution's impact on ecosystems. The 27 photographs, each sized 17.8x24 cm, caffenol used with water sourced from the sewage outflow at Matosinhos Beach in Porto, PT, integrating overgrown algae into the process to highlight the effects of the pollution.

Motivated by my volunteer work with Surfrider Porto, I aim to raise awareness of the pollution challenges at this vital recreational area. My work seeks to inspire dialogue and collective action towards environmental stewardship.
