A love letter to nature
Dear nature,
I am in love with you and want to share. You healed my heart so many times already.
You teached me to be kind as I move through this world.
How fragile you are. So fragile I'll show myself to you.
Love treats all as worthy equals.
We simply need each other to thrive.
I am collecting your wonders who left the now as the circle continues and change.
As my visual love letter do.
Thank you for being here for me. You give me space to be part of you. How beautifully thankful for you I am.
Yours,
Franziska

I create mixed media photography, using analog, lumen prints, digital, and experimental techniques. "A Love Letter to Nature" is my latest project. It aims to inspire a deep connection with nature. This project came to life during spring, a season of renewal and awakening.
I photographed domestic animals, local plants and myself with a soft and fragile emotion in order show my visual love letter to nature. I found a farm near Porto, where I live. A wonderful older woman and her husband, her a former UN employee, welcomed me and my friends to their farm. They rescue animals deemed "not perfect enough" for other uses. Their compassion deeply moved me.
My friends, all incredible women, supported my vision. Together, we captured the beauty and spirit of these animals and me wandering through the local nature and picking local plants. This project highlights the importance of awareness and compassion for animals and nature.
This experience taught me that compassion, humility, and vulnerability are superpowers. I cherish these qualities and will continue to express them through my art. Photography can evoke awe, respect, and love for nature.
Thank you for this opportunity. The two months of preparation and collaboration filled my heart with joy. I deeply care about this movement of awe, respect, and love for nature, and I will continue to pursue it in my work.
